Baka updates (https://www.mangaupdates.com/) has this capability but the UI is uh... not great? and is mostly for manga esp scanlations

I use Myanimelist, but I have also considered starting a parallel Anilist account (which has a better UI and a probably a better community). There's also Kitsu.io, AnimePlanet, and AniDB (the UI for AniDB is also not great...it's the best database out of all of them for staff listings and such though). I also track manga on Goodreads parallel to MAL.

I gave in and went back to MyAnimeList and just spent way too much time poking at it. I feel like its too much and I can just lose myself in crap that I'm not interested in.

But I've done a few things to improve my experience

Installed a Stylish Dark Theme - no more blinding myself to try to use it.
Downloaded the app - I think the last time I looked MAL didn't have an app, so now that it has one, it feels much more convenient.

I might poke at it some more to customize my stylish theme and hide the social features on desktop - because let's be honest, I will literally never use them, and really don't care for them.

Fun fact about the app, because of ios (if you're on ios), anime that might be ecchi/hentai might not show up. But yeah, the dark theme helps a lot, but the UI still isn't very intuitive. ;A;

I wish there was like, a way to view the anime you've watched that wasn't a singular alphabetical list. If it were more like computer folders/images (so rows of them) that would be so much nicer!

That seems about right for the app, honestly.

I wish there was a way to track multiple watches/reads. MAL acting like I watch things just once is kinda funny.

Spent a few minutes completely hiding all the social stuff using Stylus. I feel much better and less stressed already checking it out on desktop.

I realized belatedly I could hide a bunch of the front page stuff in panel settings and I did some of that, but really stripping it out via userstyle CSS is more thorough. It's off my menus, too.
